cod-advancedwarfare-1210-610xActivision has revealed a new trailer showing off Kevin Spacey’s role in the story, advanced technology like powered exoskeletons and hoverbikes, and the release date.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is developed by Sledgehammer Games and the video below does a great job showing off some of that talent.

The studio was founded by Dead Space developers Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey. As you can see in the trailer below, Kevin Spacey will play a prominent role in the game. Advanced Warfare also features hoverbikes and exosuits with enhanced jumping abilities.

There are futuristic battlefields, weapons, and cast of characters shown off in the trailer

My Take: Call of Duty as a franchise…is in trouble. This year alone has Titanfall, Destiny, Halo 5 (possibly), Evolve…and a few other heavy hitters coming out. With all that competition how on earth does Call of Duty aim to compete? It looks to me like they took a page out of Elysium‘s playbook.

How will all that effect gameplay and playability? How will it aim to refresh the series like Modern Warfare did long ago? Who knows. But for me to get back into the series…they need to come up with something impressive.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set to release November 4, 2014.

Stay tuned for more info as it’s released.
