Joss Whedon’s short lived sci-fi series, Firefly, and It’s feature film Serenity, still maintains one of the most passionate fanbases around; even more so now that we are over 10 years removed from it. Firefly’s cancellation is universally viewed as, “trigger happy”, Fox network’s number one sin. The series featured a main cast of nine, who traveled space together on the ship, Serenity. Joss Whedon explained Firefly as, “Nine people looking into the blackness of space and seeing nine different things.”

The main appeal of this western/space opera, had to be it’s talented and diverse cast. Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin, Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher, Summer Glau, and Ron Glass, all portrayed such rich and multifaceted characters aboard the good “boat” Serenity. It is true to say though, that one could not help but want more, even though we were lucky enough to receive a somewhat satisfactory conclusion to things , with the Serenity film. It still hurts to think about what could have been; much like a Reaver harpoon through the chest…Still too soon?
