To everything, an end. It looks like Kevin Smith has decided to kill off Silent Bob in an upcoming film. He recently revealed to news.com.au that he’s currently writing his Jaws inspired film Moose Jaws (the third film in the True North trilogy) and that Jay and Silent Bob will be in that film as the Quint character from the Steven Spielberg classic.

Looks like poor Bob won’t make it out alive. Here’s what he said:

I just finished writing the scene where — spoilers — Silent Bob gets eaten by the moose. That’s how he f—ing goes out!

Apparently, all this started with a conversation he had with his long-time partner in crime Jason Mewes:

I was talking to Jay about Moose Jaws and I’m like, ‘I’m thinking about bringing us in as the Captain Quint character’. And he goes, ‘Yeah, but Quint gets killed!’ I was like, ‘One of us has to get eaten’. And he was like, ‘You. Not me’. I was like, ‘Why?’ And he was like, ‘Because I wanna be in other movies!’ Fair enough, dude. So, rather than let him go out with dignity he’ll be eaten by a fucking moose.

Smith has, in the past, wanted to retire the characters of Jay and Silent Bob so I guess something like this would be coming. The character is still expected to appear in Mallbrats and Clerks III so there’s a few more films where he shows up but I wouldn’t rule out the character being dead forever. I mean, he did meet God once and that has got to count for something.
